All legally licensed taxis are fitted with meters which calculate the cost of each journey based on the kilometres travelled. The fares that apply from 1-11-2009 are as follows:

• Starting rate/first flag fall: 1.05 Euros
• Rate per kilometre within city/area perimeter: 0.60 Euro
• Rate per kilometre outside city/area perimeter: 1.05 Euros
• Remuneration for waiting time: 9.60 Euros per hour
• Minimum fare: 3 Euros
• Night charge (from 00:00 to 05:00): 1.05 Euros
• Extra charge for journeys to or from airports: 2.30 Euros
• Extra charge for journeys from ports, railway stations and bus stations: 0.95 Euros
• Charge per bag that weights over 10 kilos: 0.35 Euros

• Samaria Gorge 130 € - (included going to Omalos and return from Chora Sfakion)
• Impros Gorge 90 € - (included going and return)
• Various excursions from 30 € an hour.
